Life’s Simple Pleasures
Sometimes life’s simple pleasures get lost in the busyness of our daily life. Or we may have forgotten to look altogether. And yet they are their if we only take the time to appreciate them. How sweet the sound of birds singing to greet the day, starting before the sun even rises. Sipping a cup of tea, savouring its flavour as we sit quietly enjoying a moment of peace and solitude. Seeing the first shoots of spring plants as the push through the earth, especially if we were on unsure if they would return this year. I was so happy earlier this week when the first shoots of my potted shamrock made an appearance. Walking in a warm and gentle rain is refreshing and often peaceful as others choose to remain indoors. Spotting a feather along the trail encourages us to be curious about what type of bird it came from and to appreciate its vibrant colour. The love felt in a warm embrace of a hug, warms our hearts, and soothes our soul. The soft fur of our beloved pet beneath our hands as we stroke their back, connects us with them in a sweet and gently way. These are just a few examples of life’s simple pleasures.
